Positive News From West Coast Nickel Miner -

Positive News From West Coast Nickel Miner - Bryan Green, MHA - Tasmanian Government Media Releases

The State Government has welcomed the announcement that the size of the Avebury nickel project near Zeehan has doubled, still more than 12 months out from a start to mining.

Resources Minister Bryan Green says Allegiance Mining?s earlier optimistic view of the project has been more than realised in its feasibility report to the Australian Stock Exchange.

?The extensive, rich and shallow ore body makes for a low cost operation, which should interest potential financial backers for the mining works Allegiance is now in discussion with.

?The company is planning to start by mining and processing up to 600,000 tonnes of ore a year, but with ability to double both the mining and milling processes.

?It?s on schedule to have the mill built and the mine developed to start operation late next year, providing another 120 jobs in the West Coast mining industry.

?Today?s announcement continues the reinvigoration of the West Coast as one of Australia?s key mineral regions.?
