Bruny boat is let loose [24jan06]

The Mercury: Bruny boat is let loose [24jan06]: "A HOBART couple yesterday launched a $300,000 bet with a splash of French champagne and the promise of an exhilarating cruise from Sullivans Cove to the tip of South Bruny and back.

Hobart Lord Mayor Rob Valentine was at Watermans Dock for the ceremony and had the job of christening the 11.3m Wild Thing for its owners Glen Shackcloth and Kylie Baxter.
He stood on the deck, splashed some of the champagne onto the bow, named it, then announced the rest of the bottle was too good to waste.
The other guests on a quick spin around the river agreed.
Wild Thing will run seven days a week from the dock to South Bruny and return (about three hours) as well as daily 90-minute cruises to Betsey Island and the Iron Pot. "
